LifeChurch Manurewa, in partnership with Laidlaw College is pleased to offer Laidlaw Bible School in Manukau.

This training is designed to help you to grow your faith deeper, gain confidence in the gospel, develop your leadership edge and ministry skills so you can be effective in reaching people for Christ.

There is a huge missional component to this training to help Churches engage in the Great Commission while maintaining good biblical and theological grounding.

  1. The Story of the Bible: March 12, 14, 19, 21, 26  |  7-9pm
  2. Discover the Bible’s overarching narrative as a coherent and compelling story. Uncover the connections between various books and themes, deepening your appreciation for the Bible’s unity. Learn to connect the OT with the NT, to see how Christ is central to the story of Scripture, and find your place within this dramatic story.
  3. Interpreting the Bible: April 16, 18, 23, 25, 30  |  7-9pm
  4. Strengthen your leadership and preaching skills by learning how to interpret the Bible effectively. Explore key resources that guide you in understanding the Scriptures, empowering you to lead with wisdom and discernment by rightly dividing God’s Word. The focus of this course is on inductive Bible study—learning to read the Bible closely with an eye on moving from the context then to the community now. Key skills will be taught and there will be opportunities to put these into practice throughout the course.
  5. Church Planting Essentials: May 8, 9, 10 |  9:30am-3pm
  6. This is a 3 Day Conference 9am – 3pm . This training will help you and your church to Plan, Build a team, and Launch a successful church planting strategy. In conjunction with Dynamic Church Planting International (DCPI). DCPI has trained over 448,000 Church leaders and church planters since 1994 and has planted 1.1 million churches globally. 
  7. The Great Commission & Global Mission: May 21, 23, 28, 30, 4 |  7-9pm
  8. This is an introduction to Global Missions. Understand the heart of God for the nations and how to activate and mobilize your church to bring the life changing message of Christ to a lost world. 
  9. Preaching for Mission & Ministry: June 25, 27, 2, 4, 9 July |  7-9pm
  10. This introductory course covers the challenges of Christian communication; the development of expository preaching; the journey from Biblical passage to sermon outline; introductions, illustrations and conclusions; sermon forms; sermon delivery; and planning a preaching programme. It also covers ethical and culturally acceptable practice in preaching and thinking about the context that a preacher is working in.
  11. Short Term Missions: July  23, 25, 30, 1 Aug, 6 Aug |  7-9pm
  12. The practical aspects of how to put together a short term church based mission team, working with potential partners overseas. This course will cover prayer, sharing the gospel, fundraising, travel, cross cultural missions, gospel preaching, and preparing the team spiritually. 
  13. Christian Leadership & Mission:  Aug 20, 22, 27,29, 3 Sep |  7-9pm
  14. Christian Leadership is not about power but influence and serving others like Christ. This course is a must for those who are in some form of Christian leadership and those aspiring to become leaders. Learn key biblical principles for leadership and mission and then begin to practice these in your own life and ministry.
  15. Christian Belief:  Sep 17, 19, 24, 26, 1 Oct          |  7-9pm
  16. This course is an introduction to what Christians believe and why they believe it. It explores what we believe and helps students to critically discuss the relationship of theology to the Bible and to life. What are the essential beliefs held by Christians and how do they make sense of our life in the world.
  17. Formation: Oct 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 |  7-9pm
  18. Grow deep in your love for Jesus. Spiritual formation is the process of transformation of the inmost being, the heart, which is the same as the spirit or will in such a way that its natural expression comes to be the life and deeds of Christ manifested in our lives in His power. 

Location & Times

Some courses will be offered during the day or on a weekend
